Graye Smith
In kindergarten I wanted to finger paint for the rest of my life. In grade school I wanted to have my own comic strip. In junior high it was spaceships and aliens I wanted to draw forever. In high school I found architecture and in college I went back to finger painting. After school, when it came time to pay bills, I ended up with graphic design and illustration. I've been getting paid to do what I do naturally for ten years, and that's made me quite happy. I do lots of design work now—I've worked on product boxes, advertising, trade show graphics, collateral, web design, animations....just about anything that requires a sharp, witty visual voice. I'm always looking for a chance to use my voice to scream or sing or spin out any sort of art, and I'll be ready with a smile on my face and brush in hand. Yes, a brush..the finger painting is just for me now.
